Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking a Senior Paralegal (“Senior Case Manager”) to join their Washington, D.C. office. This is a hybrid role with four days onsite and one remote day each week.
The firm brings together a high-stakes, cutting-edge litigation practice serving clients across a wide range of practice areas, including commercial litigation, white-collar criminal defense and internal investigations, employment and discrimination, and complex regulatory and securities matters. The firm also maintains a pioneering public interest practice focused on gender and racial equity, reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ rights, religious freedom, democracy protection, and immigrants’ rights.
Responsibilities:
- Support case teams as sole litigation case manager or part of a larger team, during all stages of litigation.
- Manage the production of documents: collecting, processing, producing, and printing materials.
- Prepare for depositions, conferences, and hearings, including compiling documents and logistical details.
- Attend and prepare for trials: manage trial exhibits, courtroom documents, remote trial office setup, and vendor coordination.
- Conduct substantive factual research, document analysis, interviews, and chronologies.
- Organize and maintain case files, overseeing both hard copy and electronic management systems.
- Collaborate with the eDiscovery and Litigation Support Department, utilizing databases and eDiscovery solutions.
- Assist in drafting motion papers, correspondence, and other documents including fact checking and formatting.
- Coordinate with the Managing Clerk’s Office to file court documents, track deadlines, and manage service of documents.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior case managers, contributing to the Case Manager Training Curriculum.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years’ litigation paralegal experience.
- Trial experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technology tools.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ownership of projects, initiative, and ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Flexibility to work overtime and after hours as needed.
- Commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive firm and client matters.
- Passion for civil rights and public interest law, with motivation to support the firm’s mission.
The successful candidate will be based in the Washington, D.C. area (or willing to relocate) and available to work 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
