Job Title: HR Project Specialist

Location: Washington, DC, 20036

Salary/Payrate: $35-40/hr W2, + PTO and benefits! 

Work Environment: Hybrid (2 days WFH)

Term: Contract (3-6+ months) with possible opportunity of conversion

Bachelor’s degree required: Preferred 

 



Job Description:

 

The Project Coordinator/Specialist is required to provide critical support to the Senior Project Manager within HR. This role will assist in coordinating project activities, managing timelines, tracking deliverables, and ensuring seamless communication among stakeholders. 



Daily Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager with project planning, budgeting, procurement, and overall coordination of key HR initiatives.
  • Manage project communications, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and organize project files in Microsoft Teams for easy access and collaboration.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills, especially with Excel, to track data, create reports, and analyze project metrics.
  • Prepare and develop management presentations, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
  • Apply good writing skills to draft reports, documentation, and project updates.



Required Software/Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Microsoft Teams (file management, collaboration, and communication)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (creating and designing management presentations)
  • Microsoft Word (document creation, formatting, and editing)
  • Project Management Software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar)
  • SharePoint (document storage and collaboration)
  • Basic knowledge of procurement and budgeting tools



Required Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination, project management, or HR operations.
  • Experience working in HR, business operations, or a corporate project management environment is preferred.
  • Strong background in data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder communication.



Required Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • A Project Management Certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP) or HR Certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
