Job Description:
A well-established Washington, DC law firm is seeking an Administrative Legal Assistant to join its collaborative team. This firm represents public sector and public interest clients in complex litigation matters involving critical infrastructure industries such as energy and telecommunications.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of administrative (40%) and legal support (60%) work, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and is eager to learn. Prior energy experience is not required—training is provided.
What You’ll Do
- Provide day-to-day support to attorneys and legal staff
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
- Coordinate and manage filings with courts, commissions, and regulatory agencies
- Assist with case management, including organizing files and maintaining document databases
- Support discovery and trial preparation (exhibits, binders, filings, etc.)
- Track attorney time entries and assist with timesheets
- Process and manage expense reports and reimbursements
- Coordinate travel arrangements and detailed itineraries
- Assist with RFP submissions and administrative reporting
- Help coordinate meetings, including scheduling and logistics
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of legal assistant or related experience
- Strong communication, proofreading, and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to jump in and support the team
- Law firm and/or litigation experience preferred
- Experience with court filings (including appellate or regulatory agencies) is a plus
