Job Description

Our law firm client in Atlanta, GA. is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing Medical Malpractice Defense practice in Atlanta. This role offers hands-on litigation experience, significant client interaction, and the opportunity to work on complex, high-exposure cases alongside seasoned trial attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

• Defend physicians, hospitals, and healthcare professionals in medical malpractice and professional liability matters
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including trial preparation and trial participation
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses and medical professionals
• Analyze medical records and collaborate with expert witnesses
• Handle hearings, mediations, and court appearances
• Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk exposure, and case developments

• Medical standard of care and causation
• Expert witness development and cross-examination
• Informed consent and peer review issues
• Statutes of limitation and repose
• Emergency medicine liability standards
• Tort reform and damages caps

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia Bar 
• 5–6+ years of litigation experience (medical malpractice, insurance defense, or healthcare litigation preferred)
• Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Deposition and courtroom experience a must
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
