Job Description:
Our client, an AMLaw 50 firm, is looking to add an HR Systems Manager to their team in New York City. This is a full time, direct hire role paying an annual salary of $170K to $190K plus a performance-based bonus and excellent benefits package. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and will allow for remote work one day a week.
The HR Systems Manager is responsible for managing our client’s HR systems and data, performing technical and analytical work, and supporting the department’s day-to-day system operations, while working closely with other members of our client’s Business Professionals teams.
Responsibilities:
HR Systems Strategy and Roadmap Development
- Create and maintain the long-term global HRIS strategy and roadmap, ensuring that system capabilities align with business needs and can scale with organizational growth.
- Translate business objectives and user needs into technical system requirements to facilitate requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposal (RFPs) and vendor evaluations.
- Assess market for HR solutions and evaluate alternative systems and vendors.
- Identify and assess emerging HR technology trends and recommend potential use cases to address firm needs.
HR Systems Management and Client Support
- Manage our client’s suite of HR systems, in collaboration with others in HR, Benefits, and Payroll, ensuring that all HR processes run smoothly.
- Project manage HR systems initiatives including system upgrades, customizations, configurations, and implementations for new and existing HR systems (e.g., Applicant Tracking, Performance Management, Time & Attendance, Global Cloud HRIS).
- Configure and customize HR systems to meet complex business requirements; create workflows, define business rules, and implement advanced reporting capabilities.
- Manage the integration of cloud-based HR solutions (SaaS) with existing enterprise applications, ensuring data flows seamlessly between HRIS and other business-critical systems (e.g., Payroll, FP&A).
- Create, develop, manage, and optimize integrations and feeds between systems, including APIs and third-party solutions to ensure seamless data transfer and system integration.
- Ensure all current state HR processes, systems, and data flows are documented.
- Work with IT to develop and implement disaster recovery plans for critical HR systems to ensure minimal disruption in the event of system outages or failures.
- Ensure that systems are prepared for internal and external audits, and lead efforts to automate compliance-related tasks, such as document retention, reporting, and workflows related to regulations (e.g., FMLA, EEO, OSHA).
- Continuously assess and evaluate HR systems and processes to identify opportunities for further optimization.
- Provide troubleshooting support for complex system issues.
- Serve as subject matter expert and primary contact for all questions related to HR systems.
HR Data Governance, Reporting, and Analytics
- Develop full inventory of critical employee data points; document current state and identify new data fields that need to be collected.
- Define and document data models, map information flows through various systems, and ensure seamless data integration and reporting.
- Develop and implement recurring data quality management procedures and audits to ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of all HR data.
- Oversee HR data architecture, establishing data governance frameworks to ensure consistent data standards, quality, and security across systems.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process and system improvements to ensure timely, accurate capture of HR data.
- Define HR KPIs and reporting requirements; design and build reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that enable data-driven decision-making about our client’s people.
- Ensure the confidentiality and protection of confidential and sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) required.
- At least seven (7) years of relevant experience mapping, configuring, implementing, and supporting SaaS-based HR technology solutions required; ADP Enterprise and Oracle HCM preferred.
- Proficiency with HR processes, policies, and systems best practices.
- Advanced proficiency with database design, system integrations, and the system development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including advanced Excel (Lookup Functions, Pivot Tables, IF statements, nested formulas).
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., Taleo, Greenhouse).
- One or more relevant certifications (e.g., HRIP, HR Analytics) preferred.
- Relevant work experience in the legal, professional services and/or financial services industries preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL preferred.
- Proven ability to manage complex data sets with high standard of accuracy.
