Join a prestigious and well-respected law firm located in Metairie, known for its excellence in personal injury and civil litigation. Their attorneys are recognized for their trial experience, client advocacy, and commitment to achieving outstanding results. They are seeking a skilled Paralegal with a strong background in trial preparation to join our growing litigation team.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a personal injury litigation practice, with hands-on experience supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation process—from case inception through trial. You will play a key role in organizing case materials, preparing for depositions and trial, managing medical documentation, and assisting with state court e-filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize trial and hearing binders, exhibits, witness files, and demonstrative evidence.
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation, including logistics, document management, and courtroom support.
- Conduct and manage state e-filings in Louisiana courts and ensure compliance with local court rules.
- Obtain, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and other case-related documentation.
- Draft and summarize depositions, discovery responses, and correspondence.
- Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and litigation checklists.
- Communicate professionally with clients, experts, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Provide general administrative and litigation support to trial attorneys as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury litigation.
- Strong familiarity with Louisiana state court procedures and e-filing systems.
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
