Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Location: Houston

Salary/Payrate: 120/year

Work Environment: Hybrid (4in 1out)

Term: Direct Hire

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

 


Job Description:

The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys throughout the practice group on an as needed basis on day to day items from inception to trial.

 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare petitions, discovery requests, and motions
  • Prepare case correspondence
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations
  • Prepare motion/hearing notebooks, deposition notebooks and trial notebooks along with witness kits
  • Prepare trial subpoenas, DWQ’s, deposition notices, and all relevant releases for ordering medical, billing, employment, and other records
  • Perform background and social media searches on parties and potential witnesses
  • Perform legal research and cite checking
  • Source and assist in the retention of consulting and testifying experts
  • Prepare deposition and medical records summaries
  • Organize and maintain client documents and records, pleadings and discovery to prepare for production
  • Track and assist administrative assistants with proper calendaring of all pre-trial deadlines; scheduling orders and trial dates
  • Prepare document production using Relativity
  • Create timeline of events for each case as directed by supervising attorneys
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys
  • Professionally communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and firm personnel
  • Perform other litigation duties as assigned.

 


Skills Required:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of trial/arbitration litigation experience
  • Experience with Relativity discovery platform
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Styles
  • Ability to work occasional overtime and weekends, especially for trial/ arbitration preparation
  • Some trial / arbitration support may require out of town or out of state travel
