Job Description:
Our client, a full-service civil litigation firm based in Albany, New York, is seeking a Temporary Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal for an immediate 2-month assignment. This role can be fully remote for someone that resides in New York State and has 2+ years of civil litigation experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation support professional to start the new year working with a busy practice and provide meaningful, hands-on support to a team of three attorneys. Candidates with Defense-side experience, as well as those from Plaintiff-side civil litigation, insurance defense, or medical malpractice, are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and filing documents in New York State courts, including motions and related litigation filings
- Managing authorizations, medical record requests, and document processing
- Organizing and maintaining case files, discovery materials, and attorney calendars
- Drafting, proofreading, and formatting litigation correspondence and legal documents
- Providing high-level administrative and paralegal support to three attorneys
- Coordinating deadlines, e-filings, and court submissions in compliance with NY rules and procedures
- Assisting with defense litigation tasks
Qualifications
- Must be living in New York State and continue to reside in New York State throughout the duration of the assignment.
- Prior experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal (Defense litigation experience preferred)
- Strong familiarity with NY filings, e-filing systems (NYSCEF/PACER), and litigation workflows REQUIRED.
- Comfortable managing medical records, authorizations, and litigation document requests
- Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail
- Ability to work ~8:15-4:30 EST (with 45 minute lunch), Monday – Friday, through at least the end of March 2026.
