Our client, an esteemed international law firm, is looking for a Business Development & Marketing Manager to join their DC team.
The Business Development & Marketing Manager will lead strategic marketing and client development initiatives for the global cybersecurity practice and will work closely with U.S. and global business development teams to strengthen existing client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted BD plans to support client acquisition and retention.
- Lead the creation of customized pitches, proposals, and presentations.
- Manage sales pipeline activity and support partners through the full business development cycle.
- Identify cross-practice opportunities and collaborate on firmwide growth strategies.
- Maintain accurate client and matter data to support BD efforts.
- Partner with attorneys to build strategic business plans and measure performance.
- Leverage firm data and research tools to inform targeting and client development activities.
- Manage legal rankings, directory submissions, and awards.
- Support development of thought leadership content and marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate with PR, digital, and editorial teams to enhance the practice’s visibility.
- Plan and execute client-facing events and speaking engagements.
- Prepare customized event materials and track outcomes using CRM tools.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members; support hiring and performance reviews.
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement in BD processes and materials.
- Ensure alignment with firm values and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in legal/professional services marketing, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CRM systems and design tools preferred.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with global teams.
- Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours as needed.
