The salary for this role is based off candidate experience. The role will be onsite for the first few months and will be hybrid requiring 3 days in the office after the initial start period. Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide administrative support to Labor & Employment Attorney(s) in day-to-day operations, taking initiative to ensure accuracy and attention to detail in calendar maintenance and all assignments completion order to establish and gain trust of attorneys. 
  • Provide professional representation of the firm and attorneys by communicating appropriately, accurately, and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with clients, court officials, fellow staff, and all other professional associations. 
  • Administratively support litigation proceedings: format and file case briefs; create, edit, and file basic legal documents and correspondence; maintain knowledge of court filing procedures and consistently monitor court portals for filing updates on active client proceedings.
  • Maintain calendars, monitor deadlines, and keep yourself and the attorneys informed and prepared to manage the same.
  • Two or more years proven experience as a litigation Legal Assistant, preferably in a Labor & Employment practice (civil law).
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system filing procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal language, legal documents formatting, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft 365. Proficiency in TABS and iManage (or other document management and time keeping programs) preferred but not required.
  • Excellent proofreading/editing, organization, communication (written and verbal), time-management and prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to produce high-level work products accurately with keen attention to detail (editing/grammar/formatting/procedure fidelity) with minimal direct supervision/instruction.
