Salary/Payrate: $130K - $140K (DOE), bonus and AWESOME benefits!!!

Work Environment: Hybrid (2 days WFH after ramp up)

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

We are seeking an experienced Legal RFP & Proposal Specialist to support a law firm’s business development and marketing efforts by managing the preparation, coordination, and submission of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), pitches, and other client-facing proposals.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a law firm, professional services environment, or corporate legal setting and understand the unique requirements of responding to legal RFPs. This role requires exceptional writing, project management, organization, and attention to detail.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end RFP response process, from receipt of the RFP through final submission.
  • Review RFP/RFQ requirements, identify deadlines and submission criteria, and develop response timelines.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, practice groups, marketing, business development, and firm leadership to gather necessary information.
  • Draft, edit, and tailor compelling RFP responses, proposals, pitches, and qualifications materials.
  • Develop attorney biographies, practice descriptions, representative matters, firm credentials, and other proposal content.
  • Ensure responses accurately reflect the firm's experience, capabilities, and competitive advantages.
  • Research prospective clients, industries, legal matters, and competitors to strengthen proposals.
  • Maintain and update a centralized library of RFP responses, attorney experience, representative matters, credentials, and other marketing content.
  • Coordinate with attorneys to obtain matter descriptions, client experience, deal/case information, and other substantive content.
  • Manage multiple RFPs and competing deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proofread and edit all materials for grammar, consistency, accuracy, formatting, and compliance with RFP requirements.
  • Coordinate the final review, approval, formatting, and submission of proposals.
  • Track RFP activity, submissions, outcomes, and other business development metrics.
  • Assist with special pitches, client presentations, panel proposals, and other business development initiatives.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in RFP/proposal development, preferably within a law firm or professional services organization.
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry and law firm business development processes.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM, proposal management, or knowledge management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with attorneys and senior-level professionals.

 


Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • Legal RFPs and RFQs
  • Law firm pitches and proposals
  • AmLaw or large/midsize law firm environments
  • Attorney biographies and practice descriptions
  • Representative matters and deal/case experience
  • Client research and competitive intelligence
  • Proposal databases and content libraries
  • Business development and marketing initiatives
  • Preparing materials for client presentations and pitch meetings

 


Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a highly organized, proactive, and polished professional who can manage the details of multiple RFPs while producing compelling, persuasive content. The candidate should be comfortable working directly with attorneys and firm leadership and have the judgment to identify what information will make a proposal more competitive.

 

Law firm RFP experience is strongly preferred.
