Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal

Location: Metairie LA 70002

Salary/Payrate: $50K-$70K annually

Work Environment:  Onsite

Term: Permanent / Fulltime

Ideal candidates will have experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant OR Paralegal withy Trusts/Estates/Wills/Succession experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, file, and serve pleadings.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive document databases for all cases.
  • Serve as a liaison between all parties, including courts and other neutrals, to coordinate scheduling and information sharing.
  • Summarize deposition and trial transcripts.
  • Manage document collection, review, and production, and respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct factual research using online reference sources.
  • Retrieve and organize case materials for attorneys.
  • Calculate and maintain legal deadlines for attorneys.
  • Schedule depositions and coordinate with court reporters.
  • Draft subpoenas, deposition notices, and discovery documents.
  • File pleadings electronically on state and federal court websites.
  • Serve pleadings electronically via email or Lexis/Nexis.
  • Provide support during trials, arbitrations, and hearings, including exhibit management.
  • Utilize document review software effectively.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Proven experience in Trusts/Estates/Wills/Succession and related legal procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Westlaw and/or Lexis/Nexis.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions, balance priorities, and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
