Job Title: Associate Attorney 

Location: San Diego, CA 92101

Salary/Payrate: $140-175K annually and AWESOME benefits!!!

Work Environment: Hybrid (3-4 days WFH)

Term: Permanent / Fulltime 

Bachelor’s degree required: Yes

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

 



A mid‑sized law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with at least three years of civil litigation defense experience. This role is ideal for an attorney who values a collaborative environment, reasonable expectations, and a strong focus on quality of life while working with appreciative clients.



Position Overview: The Litigation Associate will handle a range of civil defense matters, including motion practice, depositions, case development, and appellate work. Candidates should be proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing matters independently while working closely with partners and colleagues.



Responsibilities:

  • Draft and argue motions and support written advocacy throughout the litigation process.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Conduct factual investigation and assist with case strategy and development.
  • Handle appellate assignments, including writs and appeals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, experts, and internal teams.



Qualifications:

  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum of three years of civil litigation defense experience.
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and proactive in managing deadlines.
