Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in oil and gas, mineral title, energy transactions, property law, or related regulatory matters. Experience with Texas mineral law is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with upstream oil and gas matters, including mineral title examination, leasehold title opinions, and due diligence.
- Support large‑scale mineral acquisition projects, mineral leasing, surface use agreements, and complex upstream transactional work.
- Draft and negotiate farm‑out/farm‑in agreements, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, servitudes, conveyances, and other energy‑related contracts.
- Conduct legal research, prepare title opinions, and assist with curative work and transactional documentation.
- Support CCUS projects, including carbon sequestration servitudes, lease agreements, and related regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with clients, landmen, in‑house counsel, and regulatory agencies to advance operations and transactions.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience drafting oil and gas title opinions in Texas preferred
- Strong understanding of Texas mineral law preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve
- Licensed to practice in Texas
