Job Title: Trust & Estate Attorney

Location: Tysons Corner, Va.

Salary/Payrate: $175k+

Work Environment: Hybrid

Overview

A highly regarded law firm is seeking a mid-level to senior Trusts & Estates Associate to join its sophisticated private wealth practice. This position offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on complex estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer matters.

 

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising clients with significant taxable estates and developing customized estate planning strategies designed to preserve and transfer wealth across generations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on sophisticated estate planning strategies.
  • Draft and implement complex estate planning documents, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and advanced wealth transfer vehicles.
  • Counsel clients regarding federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.
  • Manage estate and trust administration matters from inception through completion.
  • Assist fiduciaries, trustees, executors, and beneficiaries with trust and estate administration issues.
  • Prepare and review estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and related filings.
  • Collaborate with accountants, financial advisors, family offices, and other professional advisors to develop comprehensive planning solutions.
  • Maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional service and practical legal advice.



Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Virginia Bar admission required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of trusts and estates experience in a law firm environment.
  • Significant experience handling sophisticated estate planning and estate/trust administration matters for high-net-worth clients.
  • Experience working with taxable estates valued at $30 million and above.
  • Strong understanding of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax concepts.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, communication, and client counseling skills.
  • Ability to independently manage complex matters while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

  • Competitive salary starting at $175,000+, based on experience.

  • Flexible office location in the MVA area, prefer to be in Tysons Corner Virginia office, But Must be licensed to practice in Virginia.
