Job Title: Lateral Partner

Openings: 4 positions open

Location: Tysons, VA 22182

Term: Permanent / Fulltime 

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $2,000 should the person you refer gets hired

 


Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation range: $200,000-$400,000 base plus bonus
  • Billable requirement: 1200 minimum
  • Partnership position

Job Description:


A small, but growing Virginia-based law firm is seeking 4 experienced attorneys interested in long-term growth and leadership opportunities within a collaborative organization. The firm is looking to add entrepreneurial, motivated partners who are interested in growing and managing their successful practice. The firm practices throughout the mid-Atlantic and has been growing year after year for more than a decade.



Position Overview

We are seeking lateral partners with books of business in one or more of the following practice areas:

  • Employment Law
  • Criminal Defense
  • General Civil Litigation
  • Transactional

This opportunity is ideal for partners who want to grow their practice, handle ongoing matters and litigation, mentor young associates and work with firm leadership to transition the firm to the next generation of ownership.



Responsibilities

  • Manage client matters independently from intake through resolution
  • Handle litigation matters, including court appearances, pleadings, motions, discovery, and negotiations
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across multiple practice areas
  • Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives
  • Provide strategic legal counsel and advocacy for clients
  • Mentor Associate Attorneys
  • Actively participate in firm leadership, including growth strategies, market development opportunities, succession planning, etc.



Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia; Washington D.C. and Maryland accepted as well
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and client communication skills
  • A team mindset, with strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in long-term firm leadership
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining high-quality client service
