Senior Practice Lawyer – CMBS / Real Estate Finance (Charlotte, NC)

A law firm client is seeking a Contract Senior Practice Lawyer (SPL) to support its Asset & Corporate Finance practice group in Charlotte. This team represents lenders, master servicers, and special servicers in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) and commercial real estate finance matters.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience handling commercial real estate finance and/or financing transactions, with strong preference for experience involving CMBS loan servicing matters.

Responsibilities include:

• Advising on performing and non-performing CMBS loans
• Handling loan modifications, assumptions, and equity transfers
• Reviewing and negotiating consent requests
• Drafting demand letters and assisting with pre-default matters
• Supporting ongoing commercial real estate lending and servicing transactions

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of commercial real estate finance or financing transaction experience
• CMBS, lender-side finance, loan servicing, or workout experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage matters independently in a fast-paced environment
• Active bar license in state of North Carolina
