Job Title: Senior General Liability Associate 

Location: New York, NY 10017

Salary/Payrate: $140k -$200k plus bonus and AWESOME benefits!!!

Work Environment: Remote within commute of court (billable hours 1950 per year)

Term: Permanent

License: Yes, must have NY Bar license active and in good standing

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Out client, a respected national litigation firm, is seeking a Senior General Liability Associate Attorney to join our New York office. This role focuses on New York Labor Law (Sections 240/241) and General Liability litigation. This is a unique opportunity to gain meaningful litigation experience on high-stakes cases while working alongside nationally recognized trial attorneys.

 

Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you’ll work on a wide variety of complex civil defense matters, including:

  • Handling all phases of litigation from intake through resolution or trial
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
  • Conducting legal research and analysis
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Attending court conferences, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Communicating with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborating with partners on litigation strategy



This is a hybrid position with a flexible mix of remote and in-office work.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Active license to practice law in New York (required)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience handling NYS Labor Law Sections 240/241 and general liability matters
  • Strong background in civil defense litigation, including pleadings, motions, depositions, and discovery
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and case strategy
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in mediation, arbitration, or trial is a plus
  • Dual licensure in CT, PA, NJ, or another jurisdiction is a plus
