Job Description:
A respected Florida law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its growing Divorce, Marital & Family Law practice. This position offers the opportunity to manage sophisticated family law matters while working directly with clients during some of the most important transitions in their lives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Florida family law, exceptional advocacy skills, and the ability to provide compassionate, strategic counsel to clients facing complex personal and financial issues.
Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including:
- Divorce and dissolution of marriage
- Child custody and parenting plans
- Child support matters
- Alimony and spousal support
- Equitable distribution and property division
- Post-judgment modifications and enforcement actions
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients throughout all stages of litigation and dispute resolution.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other legal documents.
- Conduct client consultations and develop effective case strategies tailored to each client's goals.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes efficiently while protecting client interests.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure timely management of deadlines and court requirements.
- Stay current on developments in Florida family law statutes, rules, and case law.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver exceptional client service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing.
- Minimum of five (5) years of family law experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Florida family law statutes, rules, and procedures.
- Experience handling contested divorces, custody disputes, support matters, and property division cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation, litigation, and courtroom advocacy abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
