Job Description
Our client is seeking a Corporate Legal Assistant to join our team in Century City. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys by preparing and proofreading transactional documents, managing attorney calendars, coordinating meetings and transaction-related activities, and maintaining organized client and matter files.
Essential Duties
- Harness your communication skills to prepare correspondence and legal documents, communicate with clients and other parties, and respond to requests for information by phone or email.
- Draw on your industry expertise to prepare, revise, format, proofread, and redline corporate and transactional documents and correspondence.
- Apply your organizational skills to manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings and conference calls, coordinate transaction-related activities, and arrange travel.
- Employ your attention to detail to organize and maintain client and matter files within the firm's document management system, including corporate records and transaction-related documents.
- Support attorneys with corporate transactions by coordinating documents, signatures, filings, deliveries, and other administrative aspects of transactions and closings.
- Collaborate with attorneys and Finance to review and process vendor payments, client-related expenses, and attorney expense reports.
- Engage with peers and other administrative teams to assist with overflow work and miscellaneous other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant at a law firm or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook. Experience with document management systems is preferred.
