Job Description:

Our client, an international AmLaw 100 firm, is looking to hire a Lateral Partner Integration Director at their offices in New York City. The position will allow for a hybrid work schedule with 4 days a week onsite, 1 remote, and will pay an annual base salary of $275K to $325K plus a performance-based bonus and comprehensive benefits package.

Our client is seeking a Lateral Partner Integration Director who will help build and manage the day-to-day execution of the firm’s centralized lateral partner integration program. Reporting to the Chief Integration Officer, the Director translates the firm’s integration strategy into consistent, high-quality execution—owning individual integration roadmaps, coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking performance against defined milestones, and serving as a primary day-to-day point of contact for lateral partners throughout their integration lifecycle. The Director ensures that every lateral partner experience a seamless, personalized and highly coordinated onboarding process that accelerates productivity, strengthens internal connectivity and supports long-term retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of the firm’s lateral partner integration program under the direction of the Chief Integration Officer, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across all incoming lateral partners
  • Own, develop and maintain customized integration roadmaps for each lateral partner, tracking progress against defined milestones and proactively flagging risks and gaps
  • Coordinate all pre-arrival and onboarding logistics across firm functions to ensure operational readiness and a seamless transition from day one
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day point of contact and concierge-level resource for lateral partners, delivering a high-touch experience that accelerates early momentum
  • Drive cross-functional execution among Business Development, Legal Talent Management, Professional Development, IT, Finance, Legal Recruiting, practice leadership and other teams to deliver a unified and consistent integration experience
  • Facilitate strategic introductions, internal networking and collaboration opportunities that accelerate client development, cross-selling and practice integration
  • Build and maintain performance tracking and reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into integration progress, revenue ramp-up and engagement indicators
  • Prepare regular reporting and analysis for the Chief Integration Officer and firm leadership, surfacing trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Implement and maintain standardized integration protocols, templates and best practices to ensure consistency, transparency and measurable impact
  • Identify integration risks early and implement or escalate interventions to protect productivity, collaboration and retention
  • Extend integration support beyond the first year to help ensure sustained productivity, engagement and long-term partner success
  • Support cultural integration and partnership engagement initiatives that embed lateral partners into the firm’s collaborative environment
  • Partner with the Chief Integration Officer to continuously refine the integration model in line with industry best practices
  • Build, document and continuously improve the infrastructure, systems, tools, workflows and standard operating procedures that enable the integration team to operate efficiently and scale with the firm’s lateral hiring activity
  • Work closely with the Chief Integration Officer and firm leadership to help identify potential lateral candidates
  • Manage, mentor and develop integration team members and coordinators
  • Other projects and initiatives as needed

 Qualifications:

  • 8–12 years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment, ideally in integration, talent, business development, or operations roles
  • Solid understanding of law firm economics, partnership structure, and lateral hiring dynamics
  • Proven project management and execution skills, with a track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives to completion
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior partners and business professionals
  • Demonstrated experience executing structured onboarding, integration, or business development programs
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track and interpret performance data and translate it into actionable recommendations
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment in managing sensitive partner and client matters
  • Experience working closely with Business Development, HR, Finance, Recruiting, and practice leadership functions
  • Experience in a major law firm or professional services organization preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required, JD, MBA, or other advanced degree a plus
  • People management or team leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to improved lateral partner productivity, retention, and cross-practice collaboration
