Overview

A highly regarded Tampa-based boutique law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 4–7 years of experience to join its sophisticated litigation practice.

The firm represents a diverse client base that includes businesses, developers, property owners, public entities, and other sophisticated organizations in complex, high-stakes disputes. The practice encompasses a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including business and contract disputes, real estate and land use, construction, property rights, intellectual property, class actions, arbitration, and appellate matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong litigator who is looking for meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative environment.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle sophisticated commercial and business litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Manage pleadings, written discovery, document production, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and other complex litigation documents.
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings and other court proceedings.
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and clients.
  • Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings.
  • Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as appropriate.
  • Handle matters involving breach of contract, business torts, and other complex commercial disputes.
  • Depending on experience, work on matters involving real estate and land use, construction, property rights, intellectual property, class actions, arbitration, and appellate issues.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, strategic advice throughout the litigation process.

 


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • 4–7 years of substantive litigation experience.
  • Active Florida Bar admission required.
  • Strong commercial litigation or complex civil litigation background.
  • Experience handling discovery, depositions, and substantive motion practice.
  • Ability to independently manage significant aspects of complex litigation matters.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong oral advocacy and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong judgment and commitment to providing exceptional client service.

 


Preferred Experience

  • Complex commercial and business litigation.
  • Breach of contract and business tort disputes.
  • Real estate, land use, or property-related litigation.
  • Construction disputes.
  • Intellectual property or trade secret litigation.
  • Class actions and arbitration.
  • Trial and/or appellate experience.
  • Experience handling matters in both Florida state and federal courts.
