Job Description:
Our client, an award-winning, woman-owned and minority-owned New Jersey law firm is seeking a Family Law Attorney based out of their Parsippany, NJ office. This position allows for the flexibility to work onsite OR fully remote, at your discretion, and will pay an annual base salary of $100K to $200K, DOE.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive counsel and legal support to clients in matters of Family Law including divorce, child custody, spousal support, domestic violence, equitable distribution, post-judgment modifications, and other related domestic relations matters.
- Analyze, draft, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents relevant to Family Law, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and parenting plans.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion hearings, evidentiary hearings, mediation, and trial settings, and negotiate on their behalf.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of New Jersey State and Federal Laws relevant to Family Law.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, offering them reassurance and empathetic advice during stressful times.
- Contribute positively to the culture.
- Actively manage cases independently from beginning to end.
- Manage and delegate legal work to a paralegal and/or legal support staff to ensure efficient case progression.
- Handle all phases of litigation including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience practicing Family Law.
- Trial experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in handling sensitive Family Law matters with discretion and integrity.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong experience handling high-conflict custody, support, and divorce matters preferred.
- Experience with mediation and settlement-driven practice strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strong client communication and responsiveness.
