Salary/Payrate: $60K-$95K

Job Description:

Our client, a well-regarded law firm, is looking for a Legal Secretary to join their Nashville team.       



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, edit, proofread, and finalize pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Electronically file documents with state and federal courts; maintain familiarity with e-filing procedures and court requirements.
  • Maintain organized, current client files and litigation records.
  • Manage attorney calendars using Outlook and Milana, including appointments, deadlines, hearings, and critical dates.
  • Coordinate attorney travel, schedules, and related logistics.
  • Enter, audit, and update timekeeping records, including appropriate litigation codes.
  • Process attorney expense reports, reimbursements, and mileage submissions.
  • Provide professional, responsive telephone and administrative support to attorneys and reception as needed.
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy, prepare payment requests, and ensure timely submission to clients or accounting.
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and timely submission of pre-bills and client invoices.



Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of legal secretarial or litigation support experience.
  • Experience supporting Tennessee litigation required; California litigation experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, Aderant Milana, and Concur.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, litigation procedures, court filings, and legal documentation, including preparing tables of contents and tables of authorities.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, document management systems, time-entry platforms, e-filing applications, and databases.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, discretion, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
