Job Title: Docket Specialist

Location: Chicago IL 60603

Salary/Payrate: 80-85K

Work Environment: 4 days REMOTE per week after 60 day ramp up period

Term: Fulltime

Bachelor’s degree required: NO

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

 

 

Job Description:

Under the leadership of the Senior Manager of Practice Support Services, the Docket Specialist supports attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistants by providing centralized docketing services across all practice groups. This role is responsible for entering, maintaining, and monitoring calendar events within the Firm’s docketing software (CompuLaw) and ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.

 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Enter, update, and monitor critical litigation dates and deadlines in CompuLaw, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and state rules.
  • Research applicable court rules and answer procedural questions from attorneys and staff.
  • Review and process incoming case-related notices and correspondence.
  • Generate clear, accurate docket reports and perform quality control checks on all entries.
  • Complete special projects assigned by the Docket Administrator and Senior Manager of Practice Support Services.

 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures, especially in litigation practice areas.
  • Understanding of federal and state court rules.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively across all levels of the Firm.
  • Willingness to work overtime or travel if needed.

 


Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Experience with CompuLaw or similar rules-based calendaring systems required.
  • Minimum of (3) three years of docketing, administrative, or paralegal experience in a law firm setting.
